Observability Engineer

Preferred skills:

  1. 2+ years of experience as a highly productive developer with front-end technologies
  2. Excellent knowledge of Javascript (ES6), CSS, HTML
  3. Full-stack front-end developer with experience in React/Redux, Express, Node.js
  4. UI / UX projects with strong charting / visualization / graphical skills
  5. Experience with TDD, which may include Mocha, Chai, Sinon, etc.
  6. Familiarity with monitoring tools (Splunk, New Relic, SignalFx, etc.)
  7. Jenkins.V2 experience with terraform / cloud formation / groovy / etc.
  8. Cloud (AWS, Azure) management experience
  9. Knowledgeable in browser compatibility and capability
  10. Linux experience

Engineer responsibilities include the following:

  1. Write reusable, tested, and efficient software code and scripts
  2. Write automated tests to validate changes, and ideally in an automated fashion, test those changes
  3. Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems and code defects
  4. Use a variety of tools to manage source code, builds, and deployments
  5. Operate supported systems in test and production environments
  6. Provide technical support for tools and systems owned by the team
  7. Be an active participant in team meetings and processes, like design and code reviews
  8. Suggest and implement ways to improve tools and processes
  9. Collaborate with other engineers and teams to design solutions and resolve issues
  10. Work with product owners to understand and raise questions about business requirements

Candidates should have the following experience and skills:

  1. Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  2. Professional experience working as a software engineer, system administrator, or other related position
  3. Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with business partners and other engineers
  4. History of continual learning about technical subjects
  5. Experience with a revision control tool like Git or Subversion
  6. Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines
