Marketplace Operations Development Manager


Capability Building

·         Develop thorough understanding of operational and business issues

·         Drive development and implementation of Marketplace Development Plan with cross-functional partners

·         Aggregate data and analyze to tell a cohesive story on the marketplace

·         Engage and collaborate with global and geo supply chain teams and Client functions to define and execute strategic capability plans aligned with business strategic plans

·         Understand the cost/benefit analysis (cost-to-serve) of capabilities to provide key stakeholders with an understanding of financial impact

·         Seek best practices, tools & processes within Marketplace Operations and Client functions and implement where applicable

·         Ensures a high quality of project management practices in line with Client standard methodologies (including Lean)

·         Apply transition management principles, tools and methodologies

·         Support capability intake process


Relationship Management/Team

·         Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, establish and maintain an operational alliance with partner functions (Logistics, Sales, DSM, Merch, etc.) that drive supply chain efficiencies and process improvements

·         Actively participate in the Marketplace Operations community and build network with peers

·         Influence teams on the importance of Marketplace Development Plans

·         Ensure operations discussions are consumer-centric and holistic

·         Lead cross-functional and cross-go project teams to deliver identified objectives and ensure capabilities are transitioned to the business


Strategic Planning & Communication

·         Actively engage in Strategic Planning process including by articulating business requirements within the wider Client organization and manage & measure progress vs. plan

·         Ensure alignment between MPO Strategic Plan, business development plans and cross-functional and cross-geo strategic plans

·         Optimize communication efforts focusing on essential information and right audience and prepare/communicate relevant summaries of business results

·         Demonstrate conceptual understanding of Client Supply Chain business models and characteristics, as well as industry best practices and trends

·         Demonstrate ability to define, lead, drive and finish complex projects. Very focused on results & strong problem-solving ability

·         Strong analytical skills and understanding of financial concepts; ability to analyze business processes and profitability models, creating solutions from the results

·         Strategic thinking, planning and implementation supporting Client and Accounts’ long-term business goals

·         Consumer / customer oriented with good understanding of sports retail business

·         Strong understanding of processes and information systems and how technology can be applied to gain efficiencies

·         Strong interpersonal skills; able to engage and negotiate with the account on a professional business level

·         Must excel working in team-oriented roles that rely on ability to collaborate with others
